Jesus, in the context of the whole story.
There are very few evangelistic ministries today that are attractive to and reaching youth — especially youth with no Christian upbringing or Bible background, who may even reject anything they deem "religious" because of the mixed messages our culture sends about it.
The Story is an attempt to let youth understand Jesus in the context of the whole Bible, especially the original good creation and the fall of man. It portrays Jesus as a proclamation of what God has done to set things right in a creation gone wrong — not a transaction that humans must perform to secure heaven in the afterlife.
Where we stand.
We stand with the historic Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox traditions that hold to the Apostles' Creed.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again;
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Written for two teenagers. Found by a new generation.
Written by hand more than 40 years ago for two specific teenagers, and first taught to a Sunday school class of about 20.
Recorded to cassette, packaged in a plastic case, and stored away — forgotten in a cellar for decades.
Rediscovered in 2020 and reshaped into four sessions, with dialoguing characters, mimes, and pictures added to reach a new generation.
